MasterChef Australia star Hayden Quinn gives his shock opinion of Dancing With The Stars judge – and reveals he has welcomed a new family member with wife Jax Raynor

Celebrity chef Hayden Quinn has opened up about his gruelling stint on Dancing With The Stars following his shock elimination on Sunday night.

The MasterChef Australia star, 37, told Daily Mail Australia he had no hard feelings about being eliminated as he loved his time on the show – except for one particular judge who ruffled his feathers.

‘It was such an uplifting show, there was no real animosity between contestants. The only thing was when the judges say some terrible things,’ he said.

Craig Revel Horwood could say some nasty comments. He doesn’t do a compliment sandwich, it’s more of a compliment pizza.

‘He starts with the bad stuff and then finishes with the good stuff, but overall the judges were great,’ he added.

The Strictly Come Dancing judge, 59, has developed a reputation for his blunt criticisms of the dancers and their routines, which shocked various contestants this year.

Quinn also revealed he and his glamorous American wife Jax Raynor had recently welcomed a new member to their family after tying the knot last year in Massachusetts.

‘Things are going really good between us, the wedding was amazing. We got ourselves a little puppy dog that we love very much,’ he said.

‘The dog is our little fur baby. They are the best, they play like nearly every day.’

He also discussed the surprising diet he followed to get himself into shape for the show and his harsh exercise regime.

‘It was full on, it really shocked me how much work goes into getting to that point. We were training for eight hours a day,’ he said.

‘Every Sunday I would make myself a massive meat loaf and also have eggs, muesli, vegetables and a bit of chocolate to keep the spirits up.

‘The only thing I changed was the spice mix in the meatloaf, to give it a bit of variation. I was on a very strict regime, and training hard at the gym.’

It comes after Hayden was punted from the show after losing a nail-biting dance off to comedian Nikki Osborne.

Despite finishing in the middle of the pack, both Hayden and Nikki were placed in the bottom two as the studio audience backed Nova Peris and Shane Crawford, and Nikki’s routine on the night slightly edged out Hayden’s, leading to his elimination.
