Strictly’s Ellie Leach updates fans after “falling over on stage”


Strictly Come Dancing winner Ellie Leach has revealed she took a tumble on stage during the live tour.

Updating fans on how her Strictly return has been going so far, the Coronation Street actress confessed she lost her footing during one of the Birmingham Arena shows.

Laughing at her clumsiness, she asked fans if anyone had any footage of the incident – and they delivered.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, Leach explained how she fell to the floor during one of the group dance routines.

“If anyone’s got a video of me falling over on stage, please feel free to tag me in it because I would love to see if it looked as bad as it felt,” she remarked. “I really, really want to see it.

“If you didn’t see it, well here you are. I’m telling you all now: I fell over in the middle of the show in front of thousands of people. So, yeah, what a great way to carry on with the show.”

After getting video evidence of her tumble, Leach shared the footage on her Instagram Story.

The hilarious clip showed the Strictly winner going head-over-heels during a Barbie-inspired dance routine, before adjusting her hat and swiftly being helped to her feet.

Captioning the video Leach shared a laughing emoji and wrote: “here we go guys… tried to style it out as best I could”.

The Strictly Live Tour sees Leach reunite with her professional partner Vito Coppola, as they perform some of their most popular dances from the 2023 series.

Performing at a range of venues across the UK, they’re joined on the tour by Bobby Brazier, Annabel Croft, Layton Williams, Angela Rippon, Angela Scanlon and more Strictly stars.

Strictly Come Dancing will return later this year on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
